Energy Regulatory Office Department of Renewable Energy Support Systems - Departments and Bureaus

The Department of Renewable Energy Support Systems (DZO) is responsible for:

• granting, revoking, amending or declaring the expiry of concessions for the production of electricity in RES installations as well as the production of electricity and heat in cogeneration units constituting RES installations, with the use of: biomass or biomass with other fuels, bioliquids with other fuels, biogas with other fuels, farm biogas with other fuels, biomethane with other fuels or renewable hydrogen with other fuels;
• verifying compliance with the conditions for carrying out the activities subject to a concession;
• keeping a register of small-scale power generators;
• issuing and redeeming certificates of origin for electricity generated: from farm biogas and from renewable energy sources other than farm biogas;
• monitoring the fulfilment by industrial customers, energy companies, final customers, commodity brokerage houses and brokerage houses of the obligation to obtain and present for redemption certificates of origin and certificates of farm biogas origin, or the payment of substitution fees;
• issuing guarantees of the origin of electricity generated from renewable energy
  sources in RES installations;
• announcing, organising and conducting auctions, including so-called intervention auctions for the sale of electricity generated from renewable energy sources;
• keeping a register of biogas producers.
