Prime Minister appointed Maciej Bando for the position of the President of Energy Regulatory Office

As of 2nd June 2014  Prime Minister Donald Tusk appointed Maciej Bando for the position of the President of Energy Regulatory Office for five years’ term.

Since 1st January 2012 Maciej Bando has been acting as Vice President of Energy Regulatory Office. In addition, pursuant to article 21 paragraph 2 point 2n of Energy Law, as of 11th December 2013 he performed the duties of the President of the URE.

Maciej Bando graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology. He also completed postgraduate studies in business and management, as well as various courses and trainings in this field. During many years of his professional career he gained experience working in different entities as financial director and Member of the Board responsible for finance and investment. In the years 2002-2009, he was involved in in the activities of Polska Grupa Energetyczna, being Vice President of the Board of Pumped-Storage Hydroelectricity Plant (currently PGE Energia Odnawialna) and director of the Investment Bureau of PGE Dystrybucja Warszawa Teren. He is the author of various analyses and reports on energy, healso cooperated as an expert with, among others, CASE group.
