The President of URE announces final results of the 2026 Supplementary Power Supply Market Auction
The action was held by PSE (Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne) on 11 September 2025 and ended in its fourth round with 7.58 GW of contracted power capacity obligations. The auction was also open for the entities emitting more than 550 kg of CO2/MWh.
Fifty eight bids from entities in the Polish Electrical Power System won the auction. The closing price of the Supplementary Auction was 346.37 PLN/kW/year.
The Supplementary Power Supply Market Auction for the electricity supply from the second half of 2025 to 2028 from energy generators emitting more than 550 kg CO2/MWh was possible because of the Power Market Law amendment of 2025[1] and the European Commission’s derogation.
A supplementary auction is held when the level of generating capacity offered under the main auction and under supplementary auctions for a given supply year is insufficient.
Subsequent supplementary auctions are planned for the supply periods from January the 1st to December the 31st of 2027 and from January the 1st to December the 31st of 2028.
