Imported natural gas prices continue to drop since the previous quarter
The data published by the President of the Energy Regulatory Office (URE)[1]reveals that in the third quarter of 2025, the prices for imported natural gas fell year to year. This trend was observed both for the gas purchased from EU Member States and EFTA (parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA) and from other locations of origin.

In the third quarter of 2025, the average price of natural gas imported from EU and EFTA member states – parties to the EEA agreement – was PLN 153.12/MWh, 7.19 per cent lower than the average price in the second quarter of this year (PLN 164.98/MWh).
Compared to the same period last year, the purchase price of gas from those countries was 11.74 per cent lower. By contrast, taking data from the same period in 2023 as a benchmark, the price in the third quarter of this year was 8.36 per cent lower.

Price of gas imported from non-EU/EFTA countries - parties to the Agreement on the EEA
From the beginning of 2023, the President of the URE also publishes the average quarterly purchase prices of natural gas imported from non-EU and non-EFTA countries[2].
For this group of countries, the price in the third quarter of 2025 was 132.74 PLN/MWh, 4.18 per cent lower than in the previous quarter. Considering the two past years – the average natural gas price for the third quarter of this year was 10.47 per cent lower than in the same quarter of 2024 and 9.17 per cent lower than in the third quarter of 2023.

[1] The President of the URE periodically presents information on the average quarterly prices for imported natural gas purchases, which are published pursuant to Article 49c(2) of the Energy Law of 10 April 1997 (Dz. U. 2024.266, as amended).
[2] The publication of this price is possible due to a change in the market situation, which has affected the structure of the data submitted to the URE and thus enabled the Regulator to publish an average price while taking into account the provisions on the protection of confidential and legally protected information.
